Diane McNitt is teaching a class on Saturday, June 30 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. McNitt calls her self the Sewing Doctor. She will bring her collection of vintage items and sewing supplies to show you how to use buttons, laces, trims, scarves and fabric to give your old tired clothes a new look. Bring a skirt, jacket or dress and let your ideas flow. No experience is necessary. There is no need to freak out about sewing machines you will hand sew your new look. McNitt says always remember these three words. Refashion, recycle and renew.
Cost is $25.
Designer Cari Brezina is going to show young adults and children the secrets of fashion design. Brezina's course will cover concept development, sketching, designing, fabrics, and a fun, hands-on project where students will create their own fashionable item to wear or share. Color, fabric, trends, and finding your expression your own sense of fashion will be part of the fun. Classes are on Tuesdays from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. She will teach five classes starting July 31 through August. 28. Cost is $50. Registration deadline is July 27, 2012.
